Our kidneys do this normally. A lot of people, however, could possibly have failed or damaged kidneys which can't carry out the function properly - they may need dialysis.

Basically, dialysis is the artificial replacement for lost kidney function.
Dialysis should be used for patients who have become ill and also have acute kidney failure and fairly stable patients who may have permanently lost kidney function
Usually, however, not always. Several kinds of acute kidney failure recover after treatment. In some cases of acute kidney failure, dialysis may only be required for a short time until the kidneys get well.
In chronic or perhaps end stage kidney failure, your kidneys don't get better and you may need dialysis for the rest of your life. In case your doctor says you're a candidate, you might choose to be placed on a waiting list for a new kidney.
http://www.kidneystreatment.co....m/kidney-disease-sym
