Philippine police sued for arrest

Allan Almoite, 31, from the Philippines was arrested and accused of terrorism five years ago. The Muslim convert, also known as Ali bin Nasser, was detained for two years until he was finally acquitted.<br /><br />He maintains his innocence, saying he was tortured into making a confession.<br /><br />Now, he is suing the police for $10 million, a move he hopes will force them to be more careful in the pursuit of justice.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Marga Ortigas reports from Manilla.
